Las Palmas to sign free agent Remy

Las Palmas have agreed a two-year deal with Loic Remy after the French striker cancelled his contract with Chelsea, say reports in Spain.

Cope Gran Canaria reported on Thursday that the 30-year-old had agreed to leave Stamford Bridge and would travel to the Spanish island, while Marca now say he will move on a free transfer.

Reports on Friday suggest the Frenchman has signed a two-year deal at Los Amarillos after completing his medical examinations in London.

The French international has started only nine Premier League games for Chelsea in three years since signing from Queen’s Park Rangers and spent an unsuccessful loan stint at Crystal Palace last season.

The Lyon-native has failed to find regular first-team football since netting 14 league goals in 24 starts for Newcastle in the 2013/14 season and now looks set to exit England.
