Atletico Madrid have offered Argentine midfielder Nicolas Gaitan to Watford in order to fund a deal for Diego Costa, say reports.
Daily Record journalist Duncan Castles reports the former Benfica playmaker has been offered to the Hornets for a €2m loan fee with an option to buy.
The 29-year-old joined Atleti in a €25m from the Portuguese champions last summer, netting four goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
English champions Chelsea are reportedly open to selling Spain international Costa this month but are insisting on a set price which Los Rojiblancos are so far failing to meet, and believe that offering Gaitan can conclude the deal.
