Barca duo prepared to not play

Barcelona duo Douglas and Arda Turan are willing to stay at the club even if they receive no playing time, say reports in Spain.

El Mundo Deportivo state the two are reluctant to leave the club as they do not want to see a cut in their wages and are prepared to sit on the sidelines rather than accept a move away.

Brazilian full-back Douglas is reportedly wanted by Portuguese giants Sporting CP and Benfica, while Galatasaray are keen on a return for Arda.

Douglas, 27, joined Barca from Sao Paulo in 2014 but has started only one La Liga outing and spent last season on loan at Sporting Gijon.

Arda previously spent five years in the Turkish side’s first team, winning a league, cup and Super Cup during his stint, before joining Atletico Madrid in 2011.

Since moving to the Camp Nou in 2015 the midfielder has struggled to nail down a first-team place, but has scored 19 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions.
