Abdennour set for Zenit move

Valencia central defender Aymen Abdennour is set to undergo a medical in Russia ahead of a move to Zenit Saint Petersburg, say reports.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the Tunisian international is will travel to Saint Petersburg on Monday before taking his medical examinations the following day.

The 28-year-old has also been linked to Inter, Watford and Besiktas this summer but now appears to be leaving the Mestalla, with Zenit moving to replace the Fenerbahce-bound Luis Neto.

Abdennour made 48 appearances in all competitions for Los Che but started only nine La Liga games last season, and isn’t thought to be in new Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral’s plans after an underwhelming stint in Spain.
