Madrid ‘announce’ Messi signing

Real Madrid ‘announced’ the signing of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, before the post was later confirmed as a hack.

The OurMine group, which also hacked Barca’s Twitter account to ‘break’ Angel Di Maria’s arrival, targeted Madrid’s page in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The hacker then wrote ‘Welcome, Messi’ in several languages, along with a video clip of the Argentine’s last-minute winner against Los Blancos last season.

OurMine then wrote another message, assuming responsibility for the attack and criticising internet security, before asking for the hashtag #RealMadridHack to start trending.

The group has already hacked the social-media accounts of global organisations such as Netflix, Marvel, WWE, HBO and PlayStation.
