Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane made it clear “I’m not happy” with Sergio Ramos’ red at Deportivo La Coruna and that “I want to keep this squad as it is.”
Ramos was sent off for a second yellow card after he threw an elbow into Borja Valle’s face towards the end of Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Depor, but the Coach only criticised the referee for depriving him of his captain.
“Casemiro? He can do these things, he can push on and when we’re away from home, it shows,” the Coach said after the game.
“It’s not his main job, but I’m happy for him. I’m happy with how the game went, but not for what happened with Sergio.
“Overall we’re happy, it’s not an easy pitch to play on, they’re a team that can cause you problems and they had their chances.
“Nacho? He always does well, he’s also focused when he’s not playing, but when he suddenly plays, he does so very well. I’m happy he hasn’t changed [clubs].
“We tried to play like we did [for Casemiro’s goal] and we know we have players to do it, the second goal is what we worked on and we’re all satisfied.
“No-one’s asked me to leave, I want to keep this squad as it is and I hope no changes are made. Until 31, anything can happen.
“Ramos’ elbow? I don’t know, I still have to see the second card but I won’t talk about that, it’s already done.
“I didn’t see it, the referee saw a foul and that’s it, I lost a player and I’m not happy.”
