Gerard Deulofeu and Paco Alcacer partner Lionel Messi up top for Barcelona's La Liga opener against Real Betis tonight.

Luis Suarez's knee injury opens the door for Alcacer to stake his claim as Barca's No 9, while Deulofeu's return on the left wing marks a move back to 4-3-3 for Ernesto Valverde's men.

Elsewhere, Gerard Pique is named a substitute, despite being passed fit to play, while Arda Turan ends his Blaugrana exile to take his place on the bench.

Betis, on the other hand, set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and give League debuts to Zouhair Feddal, Victor Camarasa, Andres Guardado and Sergio Leon.

The last time these two sides met was back in January, when Aissa Mandi was wrongly adjudged to have cleared a Jordi Alba shot off the line in a 1-1 draw.

This was also an opening-day fixture last season, the Catalans' famed MSN front line firing them to a 6-2 victory on that occasion.
