Preview: Athletic-Getafe

Two of La Liga’s newest Coaches lock horns as Athletic Bilbao host newly-promoted Getafe in the first of Sunday’s matches.

Athletic boss Jose Angel Ziganda on how he wants his team to play: “We want them to see a team that have fun and that the fans feel reflected in what they see.

“We know what it means to play at San Mames and in front of these fans.

“We’re aware of this and we’d like to do more than just win, [we’d like to also] tickle their fancies, fuel them with enthusiasm and want to feel like coming to see their team because it’s something that really entertains them.

“It’s not only about coming and winning, it’s about doing things well, transmitting strength, enthusiasm and the pride of knowing how to do things well.”

Getafe boss Jose Bordalas on his side’s return to La Liga and Los Leones: “A beautiful time is here, it’s what we’ve all been waiting for and we’re looking forward to it without a shadow of a doubt.

“Athletic are a very good team, whose players have played together for a long time, and although there’s been change of Coach, their idea and group are the same.

“They’re a team that have had several, good seasons. They’re a team that play at a great level, so we’ll try to have a great game. They’re just as formidable.”
