Coutinho vows not to play for Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho has reportedly told Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp he does not want to play for the club again after rejected offers from Barcelona.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian is intent on his desire to push through a move to the Camp Nou and is unhappy with the English club’s handling of the situation.

Despite requesting ‘amicably’ that he be allowed to leave the club due to such a high offer from Barca – reported to be €100m – he was dismayed that not only was this rejected but his desire to leave was not respected.

The Merseyside club released a statement on Friday to confirm the former Inter playmaker would not leave the club under any circumstances this transfer window.

So unsettled is the Brazilian international, he values his potential move to the Blaugrana higher than his own World Cup place and would refuse to play for the Reds if they continue in their stance of not selling.

Coutinho, 25, was viewed as a primary transfer target for the Catalan club alongside Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele following the sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
