Sevilla are not backing down from their insistence that wantaway midfielder Steven N’Zonzi will not be sold below his €40m release clause, say reports.
Marca report on Wednesday that the Frenchman still ‘has the trust’ of Coach Eduardo Berizzo and will be started in the Champions League qualifier against Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 28-year-old reportedly wants to leave Los Rojiblancos amid interest from Italian champions Juventus although his clause has yet to be triggered.
Should he feature in the European preliminary match it would not rule him out of playing for another side in European competition this season.
Sporting director Oscar Arias admitted earlier this summer he ‘couldn’t do anything’ to stop the former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder from leaving should a club activate his release clause.
