Malaga are closing in on the signing of Argentine central midfielder Esteban Rolon from Argentinos Juniors in a €3.5m deal, say reports.
The Costa Del Sol side have already signed Banfield midfield Emanuel Cecchini from Argentina and is set to replace Pablo Fornals, who joined Villarreal, while Rolon is said to be seen as a replacement for Ignacio Camacho.
Marca now report that after initial promising talks, negotiations hit a wall before the Spanish side increased their offer earlier this week.
“There is an offer from Malaga that is being analysed by our board,” the president of Argentinos Juniors, Cristian Malaespina, told TyCSports at the end of July.
22-year-old Rolon has made 53 appearances for the top-flight Argentine side.
