Tottenham Hotspur have had a €22m bid for Valencia’s in-demand full-back Joao Cancelo rejected, according to reports.
Valencia-based Plaza Deportiva cite sources in England suggesting Spurs are the first club to make a firm offer for the Portuguese defender who is also reportedly wanted by Chelsea, Juventus and Inter.
The report quotes Valencia Coach Marcelino as stating at the weekend: “Cancelo? We want him to stay with us, he’s part of our plans.”
However, the right-back is said to be valued at €25m by officials at the Mestalla and they are prepared to sell him should his valuation be met.
Signed from Benfica in 2015 for €15m, Cancelo has made 73 La Liga appearances for Los Che.
