Sporting Gijon have completed the season-long loan signing of Malaga forward Michael Santos, the club have confirmed.
The Uruguayan forward only joined the Costa Del Sol club from Argentine giants River Plate in 2016 but failed to establish himself under successive managers at La Rosaleda.
The 24-year-old wrote on his instagram feed ‘last night in Malaga’ on Wednesday after rumours of his move to Asturias surfaced.
Santos netted three league goals in 14 outings – of which, only eight were starts – having netted 36 goals across his last two full seasons in Buenos Aires.
