Dortmund suspend Dembele indefinitely

Borussia Dortmund have announced that they have suspended Barcelona target Ousmane Dembele until further notice.

Dembele was already suspended by Dortmund on Thursday after he skipped training, and the Germans have since decided to keep the winger away from their first team.

“Borussia Dortmund have decided to suspend Ousmane Dembele from training with the team until further notice,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“It was jointly decided by Hans-Joachim Watzke, Michael Zorc and Peter Bosz after the first-round victory over 1. FC Rielasingen-Arlen on Saturday evening.

“Our focus is now on preparing the team for their Bundesliga opener against Wolfsburg next weekend.

“Ousmane Dembele has, of course, the opportunity to train individually, away from the squad.

“Borussia Dortmund will not make any further comment at this stage.”

The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with replacing Neymar at Barca, but Dortmund are adamant that he will not be sold for even €100m.
