Javi Garcia arrives for Betis

Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Javi Garcia has arrived in Seville to complete a reported €1.5m transfer to Real Betis.

A picture of Garcia holding up a Betis scarf at Seville Airport circulated on Saturday, with Marca explaining his move to Los Verdiblancos will be completed “in the next few days”.

The Spaniard’s contract with Zenit still has two more years to run, but he is not part of Roberto Mancini’s plans in Russia, despite the Coach bringing him to Manchester City in 2012.

Garcia last played in La Liga for Real Madrid, his formative club, during the 2008-09 campaign and picked up two Spain caps between 2012 and 2013.

If everything goes to plan, the 30-year-old will become Betis’ summer signing after the likes of Zouhair Feddal, Andres Guardado and Sergio Leon.
