Angel Di Maria is reportedly “in Barcelona’s sights” as they look to capitalise on Paris Saint-Germain’s need to balance the books.
According to Marca, despite relations between Barca and PSG being strained from Neymar’s world-record, €222m transfer to Parc des Princes, the Blaugrana see Di Maria’s arrival “with very good eyes”.
The former Real Madrid star joined the Parisians in 2015 for a reported €63m and has two more years left on his contract.
However, PSG’s need to satisfy Financial Fair Play – with Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe also said to be on his way – makes the 29-year-old’s sale possible.
Furthermore, Lionel Messi would be “delighted” to have his Argentina teammate at Camp Nou.
Marca notes Barca were interested in Di Maria before he joined the French giants three years ago, but Manchester United negotiated a clause that stipulated a mass payout to Madrid if they sold him on to a Spanish team.
