Spartak’s Garay deal ‘imminent’

Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay was spotted training separately from his teammates on Friday amid reports his move to Spartak Moscow is close.

Marca report the deal to take the Argentine to the Russian capital club is ‘imminent’ while Onda Cero reported on him not taking part with full first-team training on Friday despite not being reported to be injured.

The 30-year-old wants to return to Champions League football and is familiar with the Russian league having joined Los Che from Zenit Saint Petersburg in a €20m deal last year.

Juventus were also said to be monitoring his situation and are still thought to be weighing up a bid for full-back Joao Cancelo.

Valencia are closing in on the signing of Inter defender Jeison Murillo while Gabriel Paulista of Arsenal and Porto defender Ivan Marcano are also said to be targets.
