Sevilla try for ‘difficult’ Moreno return

Sevilla will try to re-sign full-back Alberto Moreno from Liverpool but understand a deal is unlikely due to the English club’s reluctance to move him on, say reports.

Diario de Sevilla report the Andalucians have approached the Merseyside club about the 25-year-old’s availability and want him to provide competition to Sergio Escudero.

Liverpool’s signing of Hull left-back Andy Robertson earlier this month threw the former Sevilla defender’s future into further doubt but a strong pre-season has meant Liverpool are reluctant to let him leave the club.

The boyhood fan of Los Rojiblancos left the club three years ago to move to Anfield but has fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp, with James Milner preferred at left-back.

Watford are also said to have tabled a bid for Moreno but with Jordan Amavi reportedly failing a medical in Andalucia and Antonio Luna opting for Levante instead, they are running out of options to provide competition for Escudero.
