Barcelona in England for Coutinho

Barcelona have travelled to Liverpool on Tuesday as they attempt to tie up a deal for Philippe Coutinho, say multiple reports in Spain.

A number of Catalan media outlets have confirmed the Blaugrana are in Merseyside and are hopeful of completing the deal today, with Diario Sport stating it is ‘hours away’ while El Mundo Deportivo are a little more cautious, but state it’s a ‘final offensive’.

Barca director general Oscar Grau is said to be among the entourage currently in talks with the Premier League side and the Brazil international’s agent.

Reports indicated the club had already agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old and were prepared to offer Liverpool €100m for the former Inter playmaker.

They reportedly envisage Coutinho, who is usually deployed in an attacking front-three in England, as Andres Iniesta’s heir in the midfield.
