Leganes complete Munoz deal

Leganes have completed the signing of Genoa central defender for a fee in the region of €2.5m, say reports in Spain.

Whilst the Madrid-based club have not yet confirmed the deal, Marca and Diario AS have both reported all documents have been completed and the player has passed a medical at Butarque.

The 26-year-old has spent the last eight seasons in Italy after joining Palermo from Boca Juniors in 2010, making 184 appearances in Serie A.

Munoz spent four-and-a-half years at Palermo before a loan spell at Sampdoria, before signing for Samp’s city rivals Genoa in 2015.

Making 31 appearances last season, he is the eleventh arrival at Leganes this summer in a busy summer which has included the signings of Olympiakos defender Dimitrios Siovas, Granada full-back Tito and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Eraso.

Marca report the club are hopeful of signing Barcelona defender Marlon Santos on a loan deal, once the Blaugrana complete the signing of Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez.
