Kranevitter & Borre to leave Atleti

Atletico Madrid pair Matias Kranevitter and Rafael Santos Borre are set to join Zenit St Petersburg and River Plate respectively.

Kranevitter is already in Russia for a medical with Zenit ahead of an €8m transfer, having been deemed surplus to requirements by Atleti boss Diego Simeone.

The midfielder joined Los Colchoneros in January of last year but made only 11 appearances for the club and spent last season on loan at Sevilla.

AS explains the 24-year-old accepted his future lay away from Wanda Metropolitano after talks with Coach Diego Simeone.

He will become the fourth Argentine player signed by Zenit this summer after Sebastian Driussi, Leandro Paredes and Emanuel Mammana.

Santos Borre, meanwhile, has been dealt a similar fate and proceeded to undergo a medical with River Plate on Saturday.

Marca claims Atleti will receive €3m for the striker, plus 50 percent of any future sale.

Santos Borre moved to Los Rojiblancos two years ago but never made an appearance and spent the last two campaigns at Deportivo Cali and Villarreal on loan.
