Real Madrid are considering making a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele as an alternative to signing Kylian Mbappe, say reports.

Diario AS verify reports in Onda Cero that officials at Los Blancos are concerned by Monaco forward Mbappe’s reported price of €180m and are seeking more cost-effective alternatives.

However, whilst Dembele’s asking price is significantly lower he would still represent a considerable outlay of €90-100m and there are reservations regarding an approach.

Former Madrid player Pedja Mijatovic is reportedly good friends with the 20-year-old’s agent and played a key role in his move from Rennes to Dortmund last summer.

Barcelona have been strongly linked to the French forward this summer and their interest is set to increase significantly when Neymar joins Paris Saint-Germain.
