Orellana to leave Valencia

Valencia winger Fabian Orellana is set to leave the club just six months after moving to the Mestalla, according to reports in Spain.

Marca verifies a report in Cadena Cope which states new Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral does not see the Chilean in his plans and will sanction his move away from the club.

The 31-year-old joined Los Che at the end of the January transfer window from Celta Vigo after Eduardo Berizzo accused him of ‘an unacceptable lack of respect’ regarding ‘an internal issue’.

Orellana signed a two-and-a-half year deal at the Mestalla and has impressed in pre-season, scoring three goals.

Valencia’s stance is that he was a unique and unexpected market opportunity at the time due to Celta’s insistence to sell and his contribution in 16 appearances – including a goal against Real Madrid – justified the outlay in their view.

Diego Alves, Enzo Perez and Mathew Ryan have all left the club this summer with Alvaro Negredo, Aymen Abdennour, Joao Cancelo and Ruben Vezo expected to imminently depart.
