Villar granted bail

Angel Maria Villar, the suspended president of the Spanish Football Federation, has been granted bail after being jailed upon corruption charges.

Villar, his son Gorka and two other officials were arrested during police raids on August 18 in a widespread corruption investigation.

The 67-year-old was then refused bail by National Court judge Santiago Pedraz two days later, and he has since resigned his vice-presidency positions at both FIFA and UEFA.

However, he is still the head of the Spanish FA (RFEF) with his bail set at €300,000 and that of his son at €150,000.
