Berizzo pleased with Sevilla pressing

Sevilla Coach Eduardo Berizzo was pleased with how his players pressed Arsenal in their 2-1 Emirates Cup victory.

Goals by Joaquin Correa and Steven N'Zonzi handed the Rojiblancos an impressive victory at the home of the Gunners.

"In general the match was very good for us," the Andalusia club's new boss commented after the final whistle in London.

"We pressed the opponent very high, we needed to trap them in their own half. I liked how we pressed them in the first half.

"The match had the intensity and a seriousness that we were looking for."

Despite winning against both Arsenal and Leipzig, Sevilla did not win the Emirates Cup due to the tournament's bizarre system of awarding a bonus point to teams for every goal scored.

This left Arsenal, who beat Benfica 5-2 on Saturday, locked on nine points with Berizzo's team, but the Gunners were awarded the trophy due to having scored more goals than their rivals.

Sevilla continue their preparations for the new season with further friendlies against Southampton and Everton this coming weekend.
