Ramos: I hope Neymar leaves

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos swapped shirts with Neymar after the Clasico and admits “hopefully it’s his last one with Barcelona.”

Neymar helped Barca beat Madrid 3-2 for the International Champions Cup on Sunday morning, amidst speculation that he could join Paris Saint-Germain, and Ramos confessed the attacker leaving would give his side “one less problem”.

“I have a very good relationship with him,” he said after the game.

“I changed shirts with him and hopefully it’s his last one with Barcelona. It would give us one less problem!

“He hasn’t told me anything, but I won’t kiss and tell and everyone’s free to make decisions on their future.

“I think he’s a great player and a lynchpin for Barcelona, and he’ll decide his future. It would give us one less problem [if he left] because he makes a difference in big games.

“Games like these are always good, but we don’t like to lose friendlies and a Clasico less so.

“I think we’ve done things well and we’re preparing to win more trophies.

“We weren’t active enough in the first 10 minutes, but after their [first] goal we reacted and pressed well, and we did more damage.

“That allowed us to equalise before half-time, and it was a nice Clasico for the fans.

“After almost two months without touching a ball, you find things a bit trickier, but it’s true that I found myself to be well physically and I’m looking forward to regaining my shape in time for the Supercopa.

“We don’t like to lose, but we mustn’t be too alarmed by this result. Still, the Supercopa is a trophy and everything changes when a trophy is up for grabs.”
