Lazio consider Abdennour

Lazio have entered the race to sign out-of-favour Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour and view him as a replacement for Stefan De Vrij, say reports.

Plaza Deportiva cites a report in Foot Mercato that the Tunisian, who Los Che have made clear is free to leave the club this summer, is wanted in the Italian capital.

Dutch central defender De Vrij has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer and the left-footed former Monaco defender is now touted as his replacement.

Despite moving to the Mestalla two summers ago for a fee in the region of €20m, he is now thought to be on the market at €8m with Inter and Watford also linked.

Abdennour made 48 appearances in all competitions for Los Che but started only nine La Liga games last season, and isn’t thought to be in new Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral’s plans after an underwhelming stint in Spain.
