Sevilla work on Navas, Jovetic deals

Sevilla president Jose Castro has revealed the club are still actively working on deals to sign free agent Jesus Navas and Inter forward Stevan Jovetic.

Both players have previously had stints at the club – youth product Navas left four years ago while Jovetic spent four months on loan at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan from January.

"Jesus Navas? We're waiting for a response," Castro told reporters.

"It's a pretty generous offer and we've made a significant effort. He also would like to play for Sevilla. We can't say anything more.

"Also, we've been trying with Jovetic for a long time but haven't reached anything complete. It's a more open option. Jovetic is not a closed one as nothing which this club is interested in is closed.

"Sevilla have made a significant effort to bring Nolito here but so did he, to be here at Sevilla."

Navas left Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan to join Manchester City in 2013 in a €20m deal and is sixth in the club’s list of all-time appearances with 395, only 18 shy of record appearance holder Pablo Blanco.

Jovetic netted six goals in 21 appearances for Los Rojiblancos after a loan deal with the Milanese club in January.
