Napoli are involved in ongoing talks with Real Sociedad for goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli following reports of a €26m offer.
Sky Sport Italia say the clubs are currently in negotiations for the Argentine who has a €40m buyout clause at the Anoeta, although the Italian club reportedly have no intention of paying it.
The nature of any deal is complex with El Mundo Deportivo believing La Real would only be entitled to 70% of the player’s transfer fee due to a complex ownership agreement with Manchester City, who had previously signed Rulli outright from Deportivo Maldonado.
The Basque club believe the goalkeeper wishes to stay as he is guaranteed first-team football while Napoli believe he wants the move despite him being a likely understudy to Pepe Reina.
