Fiorentina want Atleti’s Kranevitter

Las Palmas face competition to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Matias Kranevitter with Italian club Fiorentina hopeful of sanctioning a permanent deal, say reports.

Estadio Deportivo cite reports in Italy which state the Argentine is a priority of the Viola due to the exits of Borja Valero and Matias Vecino to Inter.

The 24-year-old joined Los Rojiblancos from River Plate in August 2015 for a reported fee of €8m but started only three La Liga games in his first season in Madrid.

The holding midfielder then joined Sevilla on a season-long loan deal but despite 32 appearances at Sanchez Pizjuan no permanent deal was concluded.

Reports had linked Las Palmas with a loan signing for the deep-lying midfielder – Los Amarillos have a good working relationship with Atleti, evidenced in the recent Vitolo deal and see Kranevitter as an ideal replacement for Roque Mesa.
