Danilo ‘gone’ admits Zidane

Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane admitted full-back Danilo was ‘gone’ from the club following reports he was undergoing a medical with Manchester City.

Danilo, who made 25 appearances for Madrid last season, reportedly said his goodbyes to his Madrid teammates on Friday before travelling to the Manchester City camp – both clubs are in the United States for pre-season.

"We are always considering the market," Zidane responded when pressed if the club would make further signings.

"Danilo is gone now, Alvaro too. I am not saying we lack a forward. [But] we have one less than last season, but we will see how we manage that. We have to see what we can do.

"The players who have left are very good. And some other young players are coming in. But we always try and improve the squad."

The Brazilian’s move to City is said to be worth an initial €30m with a further €5m in add-ons.
