Arsenal deal for €30m-rated Rafinha

Arsenal are interested in signing midfielder Rafinha Alcantara after Barcelona gave them a clear indication of their willingness to sell, say reports.

According to Marca, the Blaugrana are hopeful of sanctioning a €30m sale for the 24-year-old – a stance taken due to Arda Turan receiving no offers.

The Brazilian has a current deal at the Camp Nou until June 2020 but wants first-team football, especially in light of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Sky Sports have reported he could well complete his move to North London by mid-August and register in time for the beginning of the Premier League season.

Earlier in the summer it had been reported Rafinha – whose brother Thiago players for Bayern Munich – could be a lightweight in a deal for Hector Bellerin, but this deal is now dead in the water due to Nelson Semedo’s arrival at Barca.
