Sporting Gijon have announced that Spain Under-21 defender Jorge Mere will leave the club on loan this summer.
Mere also held a Press conference on Sunday to confirm he would depart Sporting, who were relegated from La Liga last season.
“Jorge Mere will be loaned by Sporting to another team next season after he activated the clause in his contract,” read a statement on the Asturians’ official website.
“At the same time, it represents the continuation of the said player’s link to the club for another season.”
The 20-year-old made 61 appearances for Sporting’s first team, with 56 of them coming in the top flight over the last two campaigns.
Malaga have been installed as the favourites to sign the starlet.
