Jorge Mere is reportedly heading to Malaga as the Spain Under-21 defender prepares to bid Sporting Gijon farewell.
According to Marca, Mere will announce his desire to leave Sporting at a Press conference on Sunday as a result of their relegation, with a move to Malaga close.
The 20-year-old made 61 appearances for the Asturians’ first team, 56 of which came in La Liga over the last two seasons.
He was also called up to the Spain squad for the first time in May 2016, while he completed four of La Rojita’s five games at the recent European U21 Championship.
Mere had been linked with the likes of Real Betis and Barcelona, prior to Malaga.
