Valencia want Sevilla’s Carrico

Valencia are hopeful of a deal to sign Sevilla defender Daniel Carrico, who is set to be offered a new deal by the Andalucian club.

The 28-year-old has made 113 appearances for the Andalucians since joining from Reading – initially in 2013 – but struggled for game time under Jorge Sampaoli, featured in just six La Liga games.

However, the arrival of Eduardo Berizzo as Coach at Los Rojiblancos has ‘changed everything’ according to Estadio Deportivo, who report he could sign a new deal at the club until 2020.

The same report also states sources are stating Valencia are weighing up a move for the Portuguese defender as they seek to bolster their defensive options.

Relations between the two clubs are currently poor due to Sevilla’s failed pursuit of Los Che midfielder Dani Parejo last summer, which may scupper any move.
