Setien not giving up on Ceballos stay

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien has hinted Dani Ceballos could yet stay at the club despite reports he has agreed to join Real Madrid.

Reports in Marca and Diario AS state the 20-year-old midfielder has signed a six-year deal with the Spanish and European champions, but Setien pointed to Atletico Madrid not signing Sevilla’s Vitolo to indicate media outlets jumping the gun.

"You've seen what happened with Vitolo and Atletico, we've not seen yet how Ceballos story ends,” Setien told reporters, as reported by ABC de Sevilla.

"Ceballos is a very important player for us of course and while it is reported that it is all done with Madrid, I have not received any notification.

“We’ll see how things develop (with the midfielder), there are questions that are still unresolved and he will offer our team a lot.

“If we can count on him it would be phenomenal for us but if not, we will look to others to strengthen us.

“I'm delighted to be here – I have never worked in conditions where I'm working now. For me it is a luxury."
