Neto hopeful of Valencia improvement

New Valencia goalkeeper Norberto Neto is confident he can help return the club ‘to the place it deserves’ to be after signing from Juventus.

The 27-year-old joined Los Che in a reported €7m deal from the Italian champions over the weekend and is expected to be the club’s regular goalkeeper this season.

"I've come to spread good vibes to this team and I’m here to help," the Brazilian told an interview with Marca.

"I saw many Valencia games last year and I was surprised by the team's position in the table.

"I didn't understand because Valencia have good quality players. I know things will improve. I just hope I can do a good job and take Valencia to the place it deserves.

"From the moment I knew there was the possibility to arrive here, I did everything I could to sign for this club.

"This is a very important step in my career and I'm really motivated with this opportunity I've been given.

"I'll need some time to adapt to La Liga, but I have a month to prepare and I don't think it will take me that long to get used to it.

"The most important thing is that I transmit confidence to my teammates."

The Brazilian has made only 11 Serie A appearances since joining from Fiorentina in 2015, although he has been first choice in the Coppa Italia.
