Betis: Ceballos will join Madrid

Real Betis president Angel Haro has confirmed Dani Ceballos has rejected a new contract at the club and has chosen to join Real Madrid.

The 20-year-old midfielder had also been linked to Barcelona and Juventus but looks set to move to the Bernabeu this week, reportedly on a six-year contract.

The Seville-native has a €15m release clause in his contract with Los Verdiblancos, although reports suggest Madrid will pay €20m in order to spread out the payments of the deal.

"Ceballos has rejected the offer of renewal of Betis,” Haro told a press conference on Monday.

“From what we understand, Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the player to complete his transfer.

“We made a good offer to the player but when a team come in and pay the release clause or more, you can do nothing.

“We will know more in the coming hours but the situation is now out of our hands.”
