OFFICIAL: Foxes sign Iborra

Leicester City have completed the signing of Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra on a four-year contract in a deal reported to be worth €15m.

The 29-year-old midfielder joined the Andalucians from Levante in 2013 and made 172 appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals and playing an integral role in three Europa League successes.

“I’m very happy to be here with Leicester City and I’m looking forward to experiencing the Premier League with my new team-mates next season,” Iborra told Leicester’s club website.

“Everything about this club seems good and it’s been great to meet my new team-mates. I’ve already spoken with them about the city and the club so I can’t wait to get started.”

Regarded as a tenacious and powerful player with leadership qualities, Iborra was close to a move to Sunderland last season before negotiations broke down.

Iborra was part of Los Rojiblancos side who lost 3-2 on aggregate to the Foxes in last season’s Champions League Round of 16 tie.
