Casillas signs new Porto deal

Iker Casillas has ended speculation over his future by signing a one-year extension to his contract with Portuguese giants Porto.

The 36-year-old has enjoyed two seasons at Os Dragoes after a distinguished career at Real Madrid but had been rumoured to be on the move after negotiations stalled over a new deal.

Liverpool, Marseille and Napoli were all linked with a move to the former Los Blancos captain but his future remains in Portugal.

"Very happy to continue for one more season with Porto," Casillas wrote on his twitter account.

"I have much enthusiasm for the challenges ahead!"

The experienced shot-stopper has enjoyed a vintage campaign, conceding only 23 goals in 43 appearances but his side missed out on the title to Benfica for the fourth successive year.
