Rosell denied bail ahead of trial

Former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has been denied bail by a Spanish judge while he awaits a trial for alleged money laundering.

Judge Carmen Lamela released a statement stating Rosell presents "risks of flight, the destruction of evidence and continued criminal acts."

The 53-year-old stands accused of assisting to launded €15m via tax havens between the years of 2007 and 2011, and was arrested on 25 May in relation to buying television rights for Brazil matches.

Rosell was Barca president between 2010 and denies any wrongdoing, while he was also stand trial in a separate case linked to Neymar’s signing from Santos in 2013.
