Sevilla’s Rami chooses Marseille?

Olympique Marseille are set to sign Sevilla defender Adil Rami this summer and hope to conclude a deal within the next week, say reports.

El Decano Deportivo pick up on reports in L’Equipe which state the centre back has chosen the French giants ahead of interest from Turkish club Besiktas.

Marseille are reported to be willing to pay between €4-6m for the 31-year-old, although the Andalucians are reportedly reluctant to sell the former Milan defender.

"Yes, there is an interest from Olympique Marseille," Rami told Diario AS in May.

"My agents are in charge of that. It's a very interesting project and the club wants to point very high. It is a great challenge.

"The fact that I know the Marseille technical staff would be important, I know the coach and his philosophy. He also knows my character. That is a plus."

Rami played under current Marseille Coach Rudi Garcia for three seasons at Lille and won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France Double in 2011, before leaving for Valencia.
