Munir wants Morocco switch

Munir El Haddadi wants to switch nationalities from Spain to Morocco, almost three years after making his debut for La Roja.

The 21-year-old’s father was Moroccan while his mum hails from the Spanish autonomous city of Melilla on Africa’s north coast, but has made one competitive appearance for Spain’s national side.

Marca report Morocco are keen to add the Barcelona forward – who just spent a season on loan at Valencia – to their ranks and will make a request to FIFA, with Munir said to have already signed the relevant forms.

Having scored six La Liga goals in 32 appearances for Los Che last season, Munir represented Spain against Macedonia in a European Championships qualifier in September 2014 and has since become a regular in the Under 21 side.
