Juventus are reportedly lining up a bid for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes in anticipation of negotiations breaking down with Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi.

The former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder N’Zonzi has a €40m release clause at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan and despite the Italian champions being hopeful of negotiating that fee down, El Mundo Deportivo report they are now less optimistic.

Their focus is now shifting to Barca’s Gomes – who only moved to the Camp Nou in August 2016 following a €35m deal from Valencia.

However, the Portuguese midfielder failed to make a significant impact with Luis Enrique’s side and he could leave the Blaugrana should they manage to conclude a deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.

The 23-year-old midfielder is currently with Portugal at the Confederations Cup but the report suggests he would be open to a move if it guaranteed him first-team playing opportunities.
