Madrid agree €26m Theo deal?

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez for €26m.

According to Marca, Madrid have paid €2m more than Theo’s release clause so that they can pay the fee in four instalments and avoid depositing it at La Liga headquarters in full.

The agreement also appears to end the ‘non-aggression’ pact between the two clubs, which prevented Sergio Aguero and Josema Gimenez from crossing the divide in years gone by.

The newspaper notes Theo will be presented in the first week of July, although it does not mention any details of his contract.

Theo is said to have “remained firm in his decision” to play for Los Blancos, despite the “many pressures” that have faced him.

Marca adds the former Alaves loanee is still determined to switch international allegiance from France to Spain and has begun all the necessary procedures to be at La Roja’s disposal.
