Sevilla want Chelsea’s Zouma

Sevilla are hopeful of completing a deal to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma this summer, say reports in Spain.

According to Diario de Sevilla and ABC de Sevilla, the 22-year-old has emerged as a prime target for Los Rojiblancos with new Coach Eduardo Berizzo and sporting director Oscar Arias both ‘in total agreement’ over the defender’s quality.

Adil Rami and Daniel Carrico are both set to leave the Andalucians this summer which will mean they must reinforce their defence with the former Saint-Etienne seen as ‘the most attractive option’.

Zouma is open to leaving Stamford Bridge this summer to play more first-team football ahead of next year’s World Cup, hoping to make Didier Deschamps’ French squad for the tournament.

The centre-back made just three Premier League starts under Antonio Conte this term after returning from a cruciate ligament injury in December.
