Osasuna winger Alex Berenguer’s move to Napoli is reportedly close and could be completed by the end of the week, according to the Spanish club.
The 22-year-old is widely expected to leave El Sadar this summer following the club’s relegation from La Liga after just one season while Los Rojillos are prepared to sell for below his €9m release clause.
Having reportedly rejected the chance to join Athletic Bilbao, Berenguer could join the Partenopei according to reports in Italy.
“I spoke to the Osasuna director of sport, Francisco Canal, and he told me that there will be important developments over the next few days in negotiations for Berenguer,” reported Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli journalist Marcello Calvano.
“He can’t say any more, he told me, until the release clause is paid. He also confirmed what the player’s agent had described about the situation.”
