Real Betis are closing in on a cut-price deal for Enzo Perez with Valencia keen to sell the midfielder in order to raise funds, say reports.
Both Valencia-based Plaza Deportiva and Seville paper Estadio Deportivo say Los Verdiblancos are confident of negotiating a €5m deal for the Argentine although that deal may creep closer to €10m.
Los Che signed the 31-year-old for €25m from Portuguese giants Benfica in January 2015 and has made 61 appearances at the Mestalla but Valencia are now keen to slice their wage bill.
Betis vice president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer is said to have been working ‘extensively’ on the deal while Perez has the blessing of new Coach Quique Setien.
The former Las Palmas boss reportedly views Perez as playing the same controlling midfield role that Roque Mesa thrived in at Estadio Gran Canaria under his tutelage.
Betis have already signed striker Sergio Leon from Osasuna and are said to be closing in on Sporting Gijon’s defender Jorge Mere.
