Official: Granada appoint new Coach

Granada have appointed former Deportivo La Coruna and Tenerife boss Jose Luis Oltra as their new Coach on a one-year contract.

A statement on Granada’s official website also confirms there is “the possibility of extending his tenure for an additional season.”

Oltra guided Depor and Tenerife to promotion from Segunda in 2009 and 2012 respectively, although his last three spells at Mallorca, Recreativo Huelva and Cordoba ended in failure.

Granada were relegated to the second tier after they finished bottom of La Liga last season, with former Arsenal and England defender Tony Adams guiding them to seven straight defeats at the end of the campaign.

However, AS suggests the Andalusians only turned to the 48-year-old as they were knocked back by ex-Levante and Getafe boss Luis Garcia and Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro.
