Sandro passes Atleti medical?

Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez has reportedly passed a medical ahead of a €6m transfer to Atletico Madrid.

According to Marca, Sandro was released by Spain Under-21s to undergo a medical in Madrid on Saturday morning, before returning to La Rojita’s training base a few hours later.

Consequently, the 21-year-old should become Atleti’s first signing for next season as his passed medical is “confirmation of a total commitment” to the club.

All that is left is for Los Colchoneros to pay Sandro’s release clause and determine where he will spend the next six months.

The terms of Atleti’s transfer ban do not prevent them from bringing in players this summer, akin to how Barcelona signed Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal in 2015.

However, they cannot be registered until January and Los Rojiblancos would rather Sandro stay at Malaga so he does not lose out on match fitness.
